Bayero University Courses, official Cut-off mark and Admission Requirements For 2026/2027

Bayero University Kano, also known as BUK or Bayero University, is a federal public property that is located in the ancient city of Kano.

Bayero University began in 1960 when it was established as Ahmadu Bello College. It was founded in January 1960 by the federal ministry of education, which is to advance the education of secondary school certificate holders.

Upon the establishment of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, the university was renamed from Ahmadu Bello College to Abdullahi Bayero College, but it awarded a degree certificate to its students because of the authority it gained from operating as a faculty under Ahmadu Bello University.

In 1977 Bayero University was upgraded to university status by the federal government, and in 1980 it stopped being a faculty under Ahmadu Bello University.

Bayero University is one of the best universities that are located in the northern region of Nigeria, and it is recorded to be the first university to be established in Kano.
