Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, is a state-owned public university that is located in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
Olabisi Onabanjo University’s history began in 1979 when the Ogun State Government expressed a desire to establish more higher learning institutions in the state, and finally in 1982,finally, the then commissioner of education of Ogun State convened a committee that would form the establishment of Ogun State University, now known as Olabisi Onabanjo University.
On the 16th of March, 1982, the committee in charge of the establishment of the Ogun State University submitted its report to the state assembly of Ogun State, which passed the bill into law. Thus, Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, was established under the administration of the then civilian governor, Chief Olabisi Onabanjo.
When the university was established in 1982, academic activities began in 1983 with the admission of 500, which graduated in the year 1986. Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, is structured after the American university system.
Olabisi Onabanjo University is focused on its plan of expanding across the state, which it has done by having campuses across the state. Olabisi Onabanjo University has campuses in Remo, Egba, Aiyetoro, and Yewa, and the main campus is located in Ago-Iwoye (Ijebu).

Admission Requirements
● Candidate must have chosen OOU as their first choice in the UTME or be willing to change their first choice to OOU before commencing registration.
● Achieve a minimum UTME score of 160.
● Upload their O’Level results (WASCE/NECO) to JAMB CAPS.
● Candidates must be at least 16 years of age by September of the admission year.
