Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) is a popular federal university of education that is located in Ijebu Ode, one of the major towns in Ogun State. The University of Education is the largest open university of education and distance learning in the whole of Africa, with over 20,000 students studying over 500 degrees.
Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) history dates back as far as 1978 when Ogun State was newly established out of the other state in Nigeria; at the time of establishment, it was named Ogun State College of Education.
Years after its establishment it was renamed Tai Solarin College of Education in order to honor the late Nigerian activist and educator Tai Solarin. At the initial stage of the institution when it operated as a college, it was affiliated with the University of Ibadan (UI) and Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) to offer degree programs in the institution until 2005.
In 2005 under the administration of the Ogun State Government, the institution transitioned from being a college of education to a university of education when it was approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer degree education courses in the institution under the administration of Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

TASUED Admission Eligibility Requirements
● Candidates who chose Tai Solarin University of Education as their First choice institution in the 2026 UTME and scored a minimum of 160 are eligible for the online admission screening exercise.
● Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
● All Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) students who successfully completed their studies and chose TASUED as their first choice institution in the 2026 UTME with a minimum score of 160 are eligible.
● All direct entry candidates, including TASUED JUPEB applicants, must obtain the direct entry form from JAMB and choose TASUED as their first choice institution to be eligible.
● Only accredited programs listed by the university are available for the 2026/2027 academic session.

● Proceed with payment of the ₦2,000 application fee online.
● Fill in the required details and complete all application form stages.
● Use the Online Result Verification System (ORVS) to fetch and submit your O’Level result during the application process.
