Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai is a state-owned polytechnic that is located in Wukari-Numan, Jalingo, Taraba State.
Taraba State Polytechnic was established in 1991 under the administration of the military governor, Navy Captain A.A. Afolahan.
The edict that established Taraba State Polytechnic was signed into law by the military in 1994, but this was amended by the Taraba State Polytechnic House of Assembly on the 16th of December, 2011.
With the establishment of the polytechnic, the takeoff of the polytechnic was fast-tracked under the administration of Rev. Jolly T. Nayme, who put necessary appliances and machinery together to commence the polytechnic operation.
The establishment of Taraba State Polytechnic was founded on the Technical Education Department of the College of Education, Jalingo, and the Staff Development Center, which was taken by the polytechnic to form a new polytechnic.
Taraba State Polytechnic is driven by its objective to provide full-time courses of instruction and training in technology, science, commerce, and such other fields that are relevant to the needs of the community as the council determines from time to time.
Taraba State Polytechnic is governed and under the administration of the governing council, which appoints the academic board in which the rector is the head of the academic board.
